Periodical Inspection

Buildings in Singapore are inspected periodically as a statutory requirement. A few stages may be involved such as visual inspection, structural investigation, proposing remedial or strengthening measures, and supervising the remedial and / or strengthening works. Signs of distress are looked for in visual inspection, such as cracks, settlement and deformation. From such observations, causes of the distress may be deduced and recommendations made for further actions as monitoring and structural investigation. The latter action consists in searching for the as-built structural drawings, carrying out tests on strengths of materials and performing structural calculations. Following this, if strengthening is found to be warranted, this will be designed.

We have carried out periodical inspections for bank branches, temples, office buildings, warehouses and factories.
